It’s difficult to put into words what being a ‘natural’ on camera looks like, but when watching Adeline Rudolph enter a scene, the meaning of the phrase becomes instantly clear. Rudolph is known for starring as Agatha Night on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Minerva Marble on Riverdale. In these projects and others, Adeline dazzles, taking every scene she is in and running away with it. We had a chance to deep dive with her on all things Riverdale and Sabrina whilst getting to learn about the people and moments that inspire her most.
First, we have to ask — did they let you keep the painted picture of you as an archer from this season of Riverdale?
You know what, I didn’t even ask if I could keep it. But now that you’ve planted that idea in my head, I might have to see if there’s a way for me to keep it as a souvenir!
You joined Riverdale in its fifth season after plenty of twists and turns — and even a time jump. How did you both catch up with the story and integrate yourself with the Riverdale cast and crew?
What was cool about Minerva Marble being introduced post-time jump is that she got to meet all the characters without having any preconceived notions of them. In that sense, Minerva offers a somewhat unbiased perspective on existing situations. Having said that, she’s clearly caught up in Cheryl Blossom’s love life, considering she’s found herself attracted to and intrigued by her.
Being on Sabrina and having the same show runner as Riverdale definitely helped make the transition into the Riverdale family less daunting. Roberto always did a great job at having our two casts get to know one another, so I was truly welcomed with open arms and everyone was wonderful to work with and genuinely awesome on and off-screen.

Speaking of Riverdale, you’ve become known for the characters of Minerva Marble and also Agatha Night on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. What do you like most about playing these characters?
Well, they’re both very different, so I like playing each character for different reasons. Agatha Night is a young witch whose loyalty ultimately lies with the Church of Night and her sisters Prudence and Dorcas. She got to go through a lot of ups and downs through parts 1-4 and being able to play villainous and possessed, but then also heroic, sober and heart-broken was a true pleasure. I feel like Agatha got to redeem herself in the end and that was truly wonderful for me to be able to portray Agatha’s heart.
Minerva Marble, on the other hand, is a confident, successful and mature young woman, who suddenly finds herself amongst the drama of Riverdale. First intrigued and then enamoured by Cheryl Blossom, Minerva Marble was fun to play in terms of being able to portray a more flirtatious and vulnerable character.
In CAOS, all the witches and wiccans have the ability to project themselves into another space. What places around the world do you find your mind wandering to? Where would you project if you had this power?
This is pretty simple to answer! First and foremost, I’d definitely project myself to wherever my family members are. They’re spread all across Asia and Europe so I’d split up my time and make the rounds to catch-up with each and every one of them for some much needed quality family time. After that, I’d probably seek out a tropical destination for a seaside holiday!

After having a little bit of time to decompress, what was it like wrapping Sabrina after so many episodes?
At first, it was kind of surreal, especially after spending about 2 years of our lives on the show, working up in Vancouver. But after some time to decompress, I couldn’t help but reminisce about how great of an experience it was and how fortunate I was to not only work with everyone on the show but actually become life-long friends. I truly feel so grateful to have been allowed to be part of such an amazing show. I have learnt so much and Sabrina will always have a special place in my heart – especially since it was my very first show!
What’s been inspiring you lately?
It’s hard to answer this simply. There are many things that have been inspiring me lately. Something that stands out however is that I’ve been beyond inspired by the courage of my friends and how they have been vocal about and standing up against Asian Hate, for Black Lives Matter, for LGBTQ+ rights and more. I have learnt and grown a lot and will continue to do so and I truly feel so fortunate to be surrounded by so many powerful and strong friends.
Finally… any chance of a Riverdale and Sabrina crossover episode actually happening?
I really wish I had an answer for you, but I don’t, sorry!
