Frequently Asked Questions
-
How many guests am I allowed to have with me on Move-In Day?
We kindly ask that students bring no more than 2-3 people to help them move in. While we know this is an exciting event for the whole family, our hallways can get a little cramped, and we want to make sure you have a pleasant Move-In experience. -
How many vehicles may I bring to Move-In Day?
To make the Move-In process as smooth as possible, we ask that you please bring no more than one car for the resident and one car for their guest(s)—two (2) vehicles total. Please do not bring U-Hauls or moving trucks; they will not fit in our unloading zones and are not allowed. -
If the student is not bringing a separate car, what map should we follow?
If you are only planning to bring one car on Move-In Day, please follow the student route to ensure that your student completes the check-in process. -
Can I move in early?
Unfortunately, Housing and Residence Life cannot accommodate any Early Move-In requests unless you are in a special population, including but not limited to “The Marching Owls” and Panhellenic Recruitment. Students who are participating in these groups received Early Move-In communications. See the corresponding Early Move-In web pages for more information related to Move-In for these groups. -
Can I move in late?
To maintain a smooth flow of our Move-In operations, we cannot allow residents to check in outside of the 30-minute window they selected for their Move-In arrival time. If you need to reschedule, you can do so through the Housing Portal up to 48 hours before your scheduled Move-In arrival time. -
Is the 30-minute arrival time window how long I have to move in?
No, the 30-minute window is the time you need to arrive to check in. -
How do I contact my roommate(s)?
You can reach your roommate(s) through the Housing Portal. Here is how:
- Log in to the Housing Portal
- Click on "Roommate and Room Selection" in the gold menu bar
- Click on "Academic Year 2024/25" and click "Continue"
