I work with adults primarily on issues related to trauma. Trauma often involves lack of control over a situation, so as part of the work, I help my clients regain their sense of power and choice in our sessions. Safety, non-judgement, and kindness are valued in my practice as the foundations of the therapeutic work, and I encourage open communication about the client’s experience with therapy. I offer a flexible approach to counseling because I believe that what works for some of my clients may not work for others, and we learn what that looks like as we work together.

Perhaps you are experiencing big feelings or an overwhelming numbness and are having a hard time making sense of why you feel the way you feel. Or, maybe the the internal shame spiral of “I should be over this by now” has taken over and you’re feeling alone and stuck. Maybe you already know what “it” is and you’re ready to face it. If this is you, let’s talk about it together. It’s not a matter of “what is wrong with you” but rather what has happened to you. I work individually with adolescents and adults, in person and virtually. With me, you will receive an empathetic and compassionate care from a holistic full body approach.

I seek to provide a supportive space to work with issues including anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship to self, others, and the world. How do you make sense of the world? What holds meaning for you? Is there a way to find more room to breathe? I hope to help navigate the places where you might feel stuck, from a place of connection and genuine investment. Also, I grew up overseas and have an interest in international clients and clients navigating cultural/intergenerational issues.

By addressing troubling thoughts and feelings, self-sabotaging behaviors, and traumas, life can be made more manageable, productive, and fulfilling. Feelings such as grief, shame, anxiety, sadness, and anger often signal that something needs to change. Listening to and working with these feelings—some that consume us and others that gently nudge us—can move us forward. Through this, we sometimes discover that our everyday dilemmas are part of larger patterns waiting to be resolved as a whole.

I am currently accepting new clients! My areas of focus are those stuck in family attachment puzzles, trauma/stress response and ADHD difficulties. If you are self-diagnosed or formally diagnosed with ADHD, chances are you're trying to adapt in a world that isn’t designed for you. You feel that you were born with a “race car brain with bicycle breaks,” with unpredictable motivation & energy. You feel overwhelmed by the smallest tasks & tormented by deep restlessness. Whether this is ADHD, trauma or attachment difficulties, I want to help!

Are you struggling with thoughts, emotions, memories, grief, loss, trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, panic, anger, feeling stuck, or worried about your relationships? My therapy practice is based on a belief that everyone has a unique history with many experiences that shape and transform our ways of being and interactions. Each person is beautiful and whole with a powerful story. So many factors impact our development, how we see ourselves, and how we relate to one another. Sometimes it can be difficult to know who we are, who we want to be, or how to take the next step.

Living well longer is most people's aspiration, yet preventable disease remains our nation's most significant public health challenge. Integrative Health Care assesses and treats the "whole person" in order to improve health outcomes. My collaborative, individualistic work with patients aspires to not only improve quality of life and treat underlying mood, behavioral, and substance use issues but is also preventative. My other priority is helping those with chronic illness better manage these conditions.

The ideal client is an individual ready to make active change. Change is subjective and can be both big and small therefore, we start where you are and not where others think you should be. This is a collaborative approach in which you receive support and guidance towards the growth that you would like to see. I am fully invested in my clients and take the time to apply factors that can also hinder and promote success. My artistic background also allows me to be open to thinking outside the box when needed. I encourage you to think and explore both challenges and probable solutions as you continue in your therapeutic experience

We are wired for connection; we need it to survive, but more importantly, we need it to thrive. To experience ourselves in connection when perhaps we have disconnected, as a way to survive our hurts or traumas, is an important part of healing. Working with a therapist is one great way to do this. I see therapy as a collaborative process that relies on trust and authenticity to foster insight and growth. I believe that you are the expert in your own healing, and I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental, space to unpack difficult emotions, and expand awareness of your unique personality, strengths, and patterns of relating.

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has beenverified by Psychology Todayare signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselorsare all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
What type of therapy is right for me?
Thetype of therapybest suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conductedonlinecan be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
