Feature Request: Minimize Gathering Yield
Recently I've been doing a lot of collectibles to level my DoH, which requires me to fly all around the world and gather a ton of different materials. Usually I try to gather exact amounts of what I need so that I don't have a bunch of single items that sell for 3 gil cluttering up my inventory, but random Gatherer's Boon and increased yields from bonuses and high stats can make that difficult.
So, I would appreciate a new ability for Miner and Botanist that negates all bonuses, increased yields, and Gatherer's Boon effects, so I can guarantee that I only collect single instances of an item with each use of integrity. Call it "Exacting Eye" or something.
I might be alone in wanting this, and it might seem like a pointless addition since I'm basically forefeiting free gil...
...but it would make my brain feel good

I'm confused. Most collectable nodes only have collectables as a gatherable item, and you can only get 1 per integrity. I don't see why you'd need to gather other materials at all.

Crafted collectables for DoH, sorry. They require just normal items you can get from gathering. Normal nodes still use integrity to determine how much you can gather.

Ohh alright, gotcha. That makes much more sense. Hmmn, it's a pickle, because you'd also have to get rid of the base % chance to proc an extra item. But considering they already do that for crystals/gathering collectables, I don't see why not.Quote:

Yeah I completely get the feeling. When I need a multiple of 5 and then get an extra I just want to reeeee. I'll gather more to make it even. Or just sell off/discard the remainder. But I can see not wanting to have to do that all the time.

Wouldn't it be easier to just split what bothers you and discard it? I feel like something like this is too niche. I guess also you could sell it if you think it's worth putting up on the market, hence helping someone who might need the material...
Did I understand you correctly?

I mean, in my eyes it wouldn't be too different than the Release/Release List that Fisher already has. A convenience that can be done mid-gather instead of having to waste extra time going into the inventory and divvying up items, or going to a merchant/retainer to sell the extras after the crafts are done. The time needed to do so doesn't seem like much for one item or craft, but adds up quickly if you're me, crafting 2000 collectibles across all DoH to get them all to 100.Quote:

I guess the Release stuff makes more sense on Fisher since you can't directly choose what items you get, but I feel like it would be a convenience in the same vein.
Well, I personally think that the 60 gil I'd be getting from marketing my 3 extra Cobalt Ore isn't worth it taking up space in my retainer's sell list that could be occupied by materia, aethersand, or glamour... and the 6 gil I'd be getting from vendoring it is not even worth rent for the 1-2 hrs it spends in my inventory.Quote:

Why do so many recipes in DT need Cobalt Ore, anyway? Bluefog is going to be a 5-malm-deep crater in Thanalan by the time 8.0 comes around...

is already in game anyway and requires a right click on the item and then clicking discard. easy peasy.
